Geek It! Anime Spotlight: KANAME ★

Since his debut at Comiket (2007), Japanese cosplayer KANAME☆ has become one of the world’s greatest cosplayers for cosplaying anime characters at a high level of realism.

KANAME☆ is best known for his portrayal as Final Fantasy VII Advent Children’s Cloud Strife which catapulted him to fame. Other notable cosplays include Kaito from Vocaloid, Kurosaki Ichigo from Bleach, Mokuro Rokudo from Katekyo Hitman REBORN!, and more recently, Eren Jaeger from the popular anime series, Attack on Titan.

In between creating new costumes and props, KANAME☆ works as a cultural ambassador to spread Japanese popular arts throughout Asia. Making major appearances at various conventions including US, Singapore and China, Kaname has also participated as a cosplay judge for large-scale conventions, earning him the status of a celebrity-cosplayer with millions of fans.
