Geek It! Madman Anime Festival Spotlight: Voice actress Cristina Vee

As a young girl, Cristina Vee dreamt of becoming an animator. But that all changed when Vee encountered the Sailor Moon series, and it was from that moment that inspired her to enter the voice-acting industry. An otaku at heart, Cristina Vee has attended Anime Expo multiple times as a fan, and also participated in the AX Idol voice-over contest.

With this passion in mind and heart, Vee began auditioning for various roles. Landing her first major role in 2008 with the role as Kanaria (ROZEN MAIDEN), she went on to voice Louise (THE FAMILIAR OF ZERO), Hawk (THE SEVEN DEADLY SINS), Nanoha (MAGICAL GIRL LYRICAL NANOHA), and Nagisa Saito (SQUID GIRL).

With over 100 roles in the animation and video games industry, Cristina Vee is without a doubt one of today’s popular voice actors. Amongst her various works, here are some of CtrlGeekPod’s favourite roles performed by Cristina Vee:

Homura Akemi (MADOKA MAGICA)

Killua Zoldyck (HUNTER X HUNTER)

Mio Akiyama (K-ON)

But Cristina Vee isn’t all about providing her voice for dub anime. Besides her involvement in the anime world, Vee recently scored the voice of Marinette Dupain-Cheng (aka Ladybug) in Nickelodeon’s Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir.

In addition to this, Vee has a versatile portfolio of works in the video games industry, voicing characters such as Noel (Blazblue), Riven the Exile (League of Legends), Four (Drakengard 3), and Compa (Hyperdimension Neptunia).

And of course, a voice-actor cannot be complete without the voice. In her own time, Cristina does fan voice-overs and musical renditions of theme songs such as Disney’s Aladdin, Macross Frontier and Sword Art Online.

So when it comes to anime conventions, it was not surprising to see that Cristina Vee has been invited to the upcoming Madman Anime Festival (September 3-4). With the event just around the corner, we are super excited to meet Cristina Vee and learn about her versatile experience in the industry.
