Can you believe that the original Kingdom Hearts II game released in 2005? In typical fashion, we got blessed with other versions/releases such as 2.5 Remix, Final Mix, and 358/2 Days. For many years, Kingdom Hearts 3 seemed out of reach, and as a result, it doesn’t look like KH3 was going to happen any time soon.

But that all changed when they *finally* unveiled sneak peeks of Kingdom Hearts 3 at the recent D23 Expo 2017.

Since 2012, it has been a known fact that Kingdom Hearts director Tai Yasue always wanted a Toy Story world. And guess what? Fans will be getting a Toy Story world in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts 3 that will be released …next year (2018)!

In the preview, we see Sora and Woody meeting each other for the very first time. Featuring other favourite characters like Donald Duck, Goofy, Buzz Lightyear, and Rex, it honestly feels like we’re watching a Toy Story film sequel.

From Andy’s bed to the pictures on the wall, everything about Andy’s room looks in tact from the movies. However, we are a bit unsure about Sora’s Toy Story look. Sure, he is meant to look like a figurine of some kind but he looks out of place — literally.

We honestly cannot help but laugh at Woody’s reaction towards Sora and his friends: “So you’re…Andy’s new toys.” (Oh no, here we go again!)

The preview then takes us from Andy’s bedroom to beyond the window to Galaxy Toys. As expected, we love it how they have utilised everything in the Toy Story world to its full potential. From the various settings to the gameplay, there is no doubt that this will be an immersive adventure for fans and non-fans of Toy Story.

What exciting times! If that wasn’t enough hype for Kingdom Hearts 3, fans also got a preview of the concept art for Tangled and Big Hero 6. To be frank, we’re amused by the incorporation of the Tangled world. The story isn’t exactly action-packed but it does feature likeable characters like Flynn and Rapunzel. We’re actually surprised that a preview of Frozen hasn’t been shown!

Out of the two worlds, we personally cannot wait for Big Hero 6 — just imagine versing a Heartless version of Baymax!
