Anime Film Newsbyte: ONLY YESTERDAY returns to Australia and NZ for limited screening in May
From Academy Award-nominated director Isao Takahata (GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES, THE TALE OF PRINCESS KAGUYA) and general producer Hayao Miyazaki (SPIRITED AWAY, THE WIND RISES), Studio Ghibli’s ONLY YESTERDAY is returning to Australia and New Zealand for a limited time from May 5th.
Only Yesterday revolves around Taeko, a single woman working a desk job in Tokyo, who has reached a point in her life where she needs to get away from her job, her family and most of all, big city life.
Venturing to the countryside for a bit of fresh air, she recalls her time as a school-girl in 1966. During this escape, Taeko forms new relationships and reflects on her life whilst making some tough decisions about her future.
Now, in celebration of its 25th anniversary, this critically acclaimed 1991 Studio Ghibli film is heading to Australian and New Zealand cinemas with an all-new English dub featuring Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley.
