Geek It! Sailor Moon Crystal, Big Hero 6, Hey Arnold The Jungle Movie

FOR CLASSIC DISNEY FANS: Cinderella unveils her (glass) slippery teaser.

Disney’s Maleficent (starring Angelina Jolie) has been dominating the box office, garnering over $70 million in its first weekend debut. Over the years, rumours have been circulating that Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid was going to get the film treatment but no-one knows much about the status of the films — even till this day. With that in mind, Cinderella has secretly been in the works for awhile now, and the film’s very first teaser certainly isn’t giving away a lot of deets.

FOR THE ’90s GEEK: I am Sailor Moon, the champion of justice!

The trailer to one of 2014’s highly-anticipated anime series is finally here! Much to the delight of many crazed ’90s fans, Toei Animation’s Sailor Moon Crystal is a new anime for the 20th anniversary of Sailor Moon. It appears to be a remake of the old anime, but in fact, Sailor Moon Crystal will be adapted from the manga and following the original story very closely. It was recently confirmed that the SMASH! 2014 guest Kotono Mitsuishi will be reprising her role as Usagi again.

FOR DISNEY ANIMATION FANS: Marvel’s Big Hero 6 gets the Walt Disney treatment

Inspired by the Marvel comics of the same name, Big Hero 6 is directed by some of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ big names including Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh) and Chris Williams (Bolt), and produced by Roy Conli (Tangled).

Big Hero 6 is an action-packed comedy-adventure about robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who learns to harness his genius—thanks to his brilliant brother Tadashi and their like-minded friends. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the middle of a dangerous criiminal plot, Hiro recruits his closest companion-robot, Baymax, along with his other friends – to become a group of high-tech criminal fighters in order to save San Fransokyo from destruction.

FOR OTAKUS: …Because you need a fast way to escape from Titans

It’s been a few months since its release and we’re still not over how epic the ad is. Based around the Attack on Titan anime/manga, the Japanese Subaru Forester advert has taken the Otaku world by storm. While in the process of directing the actual live-action film, Director Shinji Higuchi also worked on the commercial as a way to tease the public. And quite evidently, the advert is totally on a whole new level with the Titans stealing the show — which is rather unfortunate for the Subaru Forester.

THE LEAKED SNIPPET OF HOPE: Hello… Hey Arnold Jungle Movie!

Hey Arnold fans can rejoice that The Hey Arnold Jungle Movie somewhat exists out there…and here’s a leaked clip that recently surfaced on the net, causing many fans to go into heavy hyperventilation. For those who don’t know, the film has been shelved for over a decade now, and while it was definitely in production at one point many years ago, Craig Bartlett’s exit from Nickelodeon unfortunately halted the project ever since. Here at CtrlGeekGirl, we are huge fans of the show and we hope to see the film released in the near future …for the sake of Arnold and Helga’s love life.
