Geek It! Otaku Out and About: Japanese FLOW Anime Shibari concert in Sydney
Anime opening and ending songs play a key role in shaping the identity and overall vibe of an anime season or the series itself. And Japanese rock band, FLOW, is no stranger to the anime scene.
Since its formation in 1993, FLOW has been smashing it with their strong repertoire of anime songs. With featured songs in Naruto, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, Eureka Seven, The Seven Deadly Sins, Tales of Zestiria the X, Beelzebub and many more, it is obvious that FLOW is well-celebrated amongst anime fans across the world.
Growing up, we often watched FLOW performing live from US or Japan via Youtube. It makes us wonder: will we ever see them on Australian soil one day?
And thanks to SMASH! Sydney Manga and Anime Show 2024, our dream finally came true when FLOW performed their ANIME SHIBARI concert in Australia for the very first time.
Although the concert was delayed by half an hour, FLOW went on stage and just did their thing. Without skipping a beat, it was bizarre to see how much crazy energy they brought to the stage (despite their age!). Complete with fan interactions, mexican waves and original songs, it was all-in-all a fun night of good vibes with Naruto and Code Geass fans.
Here are some of our favourite concert moments on Saturday July 21st!:
