Geek It! Manga Newsbyte: CLAMP to revive Cardcaptor Sakura in new sequel

All hail CLAMP for hearing our prayers! Recently announced in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine, CLAMP’s sequel to Cardcaptor Sakura will begin publication on June 3rd. Yes, you heard that right — a sequel to Cardcaptor Sakura

Taking place during Sakura Kinomoto’s first year of junior high school, everything seems to be going fine until Sakura has a strange dream which ultimately leads to an ‘incident’. What could possibly happen to Sakura and those around her?

Ever since the conclusion of the manga series back in 2000 (accompanied by the 70-episode anime series and two movies), this CCS sequel has certainly triggered an enthusiastic response from manga and anime fans all over the world.

With the 20th anniversary approaching in May, this project could not be released at a better time. As mentioned on the promotional image, this project is slated to be an actual series and not a one-shot.

However, we can’t help but wonder — Since Syaoran goes away for awhile, will he make an appearance? Will we see a classic CLAMP crossover in this sequel? Considering the many indefinite hiatuses and unfinished works, is CLAMP going to be consistent in releasing the chapters?

Tell us your thoughts below — Do you have any theories as of yet? What crossovers would you like to see?
