November 2016 might be months away but that doesn’t stop Walt Disney from debuting its first ever sneak peek of Disney’s newest movie, MOANA.

After Zootopia and Frozen‘s recent success, MOANA is slated to be another animation hit for the studio. Directed by the infamous duo John Musker and Ron Clements (Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, Hercules), the story follows the adventures of a young Polynesian princess named Moana (Aul i’i Cravalho). Accompanied by demi-god ‘Maui’ (Dwayne Johnson), they set sail for a mythical island that holds the key to saving her family.

Just one look at the teaser trailer, Moana is already looking to be a profound Walt Disney film with high standards. Unlike most Disney princess films that feature some sort of fantasy and romance on the side, Moana appears to be a passionate girl with a thirst for exploration and the desire to save her family. With this kind of ambitious girl as the main lead, Moana is definitely a Thanksgiving film that we cannot wait to watch.

Besides the compelling story, the astounding level of realism has caught us by surprise. Bringing the island setting to life, it is rather interesting to see that the majority of the film has been done in CGI.  That’s not all! Going back to old roots, we can’t wait to see hear Moana‘s soundtrack. Not only will The Rock be singing and rapping throughout the film, but the film will feature original music composed by Opetaia Foaʻi, Mark Mancina, and Hamilton‘s creator, Lin-Manuel Miranda.
