Geek It! Music Spotlight: GARNiDELiA
Making a splash in the J-rock /J-pop scene, we welcome you Japan’s latest muse … GARNiDELiA.
GARNiDELiA is a Japanese music duo that consists of vocalist Maria and producer Toku. In 2010, the duo first collaborated on ‘Colour‘ which was used as the opening theme song for anime television series, Freezing.
Signing on with Defstar Records in 2014, GARNiDELiA made their official debut with ‘Ambiguous‘ which was chosen as the second opening song for 2013’s hit anime series, Kill la Kill.
This success soon led GARNiDELiA to release songs for various anime series including ‘Grilletto’ (Irregular at Magic High School), ‘Blazing’ (Gundam Reconguista in G), and ‘Mirai’ (Gunlinger Stratos). Many of these songs were featured on GARNiDELiA’s debut album, ‘Linkage Ring‘ (2015) where it garnered immense success in Japan.
With Toku on the keyboard and Maria blessing fans with her angelic yet fierce vocals, it’s not just about GARNiDELiA’s dominance in the J-pop/J-rock music sector.
As expected of a contemporary J-rock duo, GARNiDELiA is also fashionable as well. Whether it is pure white or midnight blue, we absolutely love their style as both Maria and Toku coordinate hairstyles and coloured outfits flawlessly. So really, what isn’t there to love about GARNiDELiA?
