Geek It!: Lion King Cuteness, Simpsons-Miyazaki Tribute, Frozen BTS, Retro Gaming

The Lion King + cute kittens …You can’t go wrong with the idea! Here’s a video of a very excited child narrating the story of The Lion King whilst acting the story out with cute kittens. Complete with crayon-colored props, stuffed animals and several adorable kittens… this video will definitely make your day!

We’ve all heard the news about animation director Hayao Miyazaki retiring from the animation industry. The Simpsons recently promoted their Miyazaki tribute which went viral online and to many fans’ delight, it has impressed them greatly for honouring the visionary Oscar-winning director. Featuring many of Miyazaki’s popular works such as Spirited Away, Kiki Delivery Service and Ponyo, The Simpsons’ Miyazaki tribute is a must-watch for all fans out there!

With Disney’s Frozen soaring pass the $600 million mark in worldwide box office revenue, it’s obvious that the world is obsessed with the musical animated film (read our review here!). Here at Ctrl+GeekGirl, we’re big fans of animation and we love to watch B-rolls just to see the cast in action. Seeing the final production in cinemas is one thing, but to go beyond the surface and witness all the effort that goes into making these wonderful films is another. Check out some B-Roll videos below!

If you’re into gaming and a lover of all things retro, take a look at this piece of history making the internet rounds. Youtuber kbigstone recently posted video footage from the 1983 Tokyo Toy Show, featuring toys such as Star Wars figurines, retro gaming consoles, and there is also a glimpse of the Diaclone and Micro Change toy lines (aka the toy lines which ultimately began the creation of Transformers).

And we’ll leave this post here with one of our current favourite movie trailers… The LEGO Movie! Directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs), it looks like one fun, action-packed movie for all the kids and adults out there~
